INTRODUCTION

The Navodaya  Vidyalaya policy on education (1986) states that “It is universally accepted that children with special talents and aptitudes should be provided opportunity to proceed at a faster pace by making good quality education available to them irrespective of their capacity to pay for it.”
          The Navodaya Vidyalaya is a very innovative scheme meant for talented children predominantly for the rural areas, unprecedented in its scale and dimension in the field of education in India or for that matter anywhere in the world. The scheme is a testimony to the government’s commitment towards promotive national integration of quality education to the talented children particularly from the areas of our country.

• Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are being run in each district under the control of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, New Delhi an autonomous organization Department of MINISTRY HRD Govt. of India.

Hon’ble Minister, Human Resource Department, Government of India, New Delhi Shri Arjun Singh is the chairmen of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. Shri O. Nava Kishore Singh IAS is the commissioner and member secretary of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Hqrs, New Delhi. He has control over all the 546 JNVs of the country through eight Regional Office Bhopal, Lucknow, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Pune, Patna, Shilong and Chandigarh. Each Regional Office is controlled by the Deputy Commissioner to supervise the progress and functioning of all the JNVs of the Region.
          There are 77 JNVs in Bhopal Region – covering three states – M.P., C.G. & Orissa & nine clusters. Shri T.C.S. Naidu, Deputy Commissioner Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Regional Office Bhopal is the controlling authority of Bhopal Region. JNVs Malhar, Bilaspur comes under Raigarh cluster. Other JNVs of this cluster are JNV Surguja, JNV Shahdola, JNV Anooppur, JNV Korba, JNV Janjgir-Champa, & JNV Dhamtari. Shri D.V.S.R. Murthy Assistant Commissioner Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Regional Office, Bhopal is the Incharge Assistant Commissioner of this cluster to monitor the functioning of these eight Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. Ms T. Razia Begam Principal JNV Raigarh is the cluster Incharge Principal of Raigarh cluster.
